TERRI GIVENS
Terri Givens is the CEO and Co-Founder of The Center for Higher Education Leadership, a portal for professional development for higher education leaders. She is the former Provost at Menlo College in the San Francisco Bay Area; Professor of Government and European studies at The University of Texas at Austin; Vice Provost overseeing undergraduate curriculum and spearheading global initiatives as its chief international officer; and founding director of the Center for European Studies. She is the author of books and articles on immigration policy, antidiscrimination politics and security issues, including Legislating Equality: The Politics of Antidiscrimination Policy in Europe. A lifelong runner, athlete and fitness expert, founder of Take Back the Trail, a fitness program for women in East Austin, director on several nonprofit boards and mom to two amazing young men.

SHELDON EKLAND-OLSEN
Sheldon Ekland-Olson, Bernard and Audre Rapoport Centennial Professor of Liberal Arts: Joined The University of Texas at Austin after completing his graduate work at the University of Washington in Seattle and Yale Law School. For five years he was Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and then for eight years Executive Vice President and Provost of the university. He has also served as the Director of the School of Human Ecology as well as the Director of Statistics and Scientific Computing. His current interests are reflected in Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Decides? an exploration of how communities go about justifying the violation of universally held moral imperatives. He has authored or co-authored several books and numerous articles on criminal justice, prison reform, and capital punishment. Widely recognized for his commitment to teaching undergraduates, he is the recipient of numerous teaching awards.
